It's the scientific name of the Persian Fallow Deer and is about making the best of a crummy situation—finding catharsis in starting over and maybe even thriving somewhere you never thought you belonged. It’s a tribute to the power of friendship and connection in the midst of chaos. If it were a kitschy fridge magnet from a truck stop at the edge of the world, it would say: “Armageddon is for lovers…”

Paul Babe is the evolution of Denver’s electro-sensual rock & roll band Rossonian, created by multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songmaker Seth Evans. After moving to New York, Evans guided the sound toward what NPR called “cosmic R&B” when his song Love in a Wasteland was a runner-up in the 2016 Tiny Desk Contest. Now, that track appears as the second song on Paul Babe’s debut LP.

Paul Babe In The Backyard
In the Summer, the band returned to the slightly decrepit downtown Denver house where they cut their musical teeth to play songs from their new LP in their old digs. A few months later they did it again, only in a slightly cuter backyard.
